Sufism is a mystical path which opens and aligns the heart with God. It began in Persia over fifteen hundred years ago and has profound teachings for America and our current state of problems and pain. It is sometimes known as the mystical branch of Islam. As a spiritual path, it teaches the essence of all the Abrahimic religions, including Judaism, Christianity and Islam, honoring all the Prophets as messengers of God. Our Sufi guide, Sidi, teaches that if we all knew our religion well, there would only be one religion, the religion of love and peace and mercy. I believe that ending separation between these three religions will help bring peace to our troubled world, and that peace begins with each individual heart reconnecting with God's love and peace.
